The scene starts up with Melinda Rhodes sitting back in her office chair. The office itself has a few decorations, some glass and metal framed posters, most notably one that reads "Ronny James Dio - This is your Life" showcasing artistic renditions of all the rock artists that he has inspired and personally helped achieve their success in some way, a veritable legion of who's who in metal. She sports a red leather jacket decorated in silver tribal striping on the sleeves, an old Slayer tank top, blue jeans, studded leather boots, a black glove on her left hand and her right hand showing off the "BOSS" tattoo across the back of it.
Rebel: You know, I don't comment a whole hell of alot when my wrestlers talk out of line. You see, I know where the anger comes from with the passion and the drive. I've gotten angry at the boss numerous times but I also knew who I was dealing with. You see, Ursula, you're a champion because I allowed it to be. I put you in a position to succeed because I look at you differently than some other places have. They see a monster, a tool, someone who they can't put a belt on but can use to put fear in a roster of unruly talent. That's been your role for going on eleven-odd years now. People use you as a sledgehammer to the nail while I want people to see the person I didn't see all those years ago.
She leans forward in her chair, resting her elbows on her knees and rubbing those hands together.
Rebel: I remember being one of those nails in fact. Thing is, I could've been petty. I could've left you where you were and not bothered. Nobody was looking to hire you after the stint in the Asylum. I decided I'd take a chance and bring you back to the wrestling world that was so damn scared of you and look at the fruit my efforts bore. You're actually looked at as a respected wrestler in the industry. People look up to you. Fans buy your merch! Terminator Von Rossbach T-shirts fly off those SRW Merchandising tables like crazy. You became a fucking superstar, Ursula and it's all because I took a chance.
Mel tilts her head a bit then shakes her head with a little grin.
Rebel: You're more of a draw than me in most places I'm working at as a wrestler. Fuck I'm a little jealous of you even, imagine that, but I always kept it professional. I didn't make my decision to put Tolson as a contender lightly. We'd talked, she wanted a shot at redemption, much like you were eager for when I recruited you for Galactic so long ago. The original owner before I bought out the stock, didn't have much faith in you. She was another one that wanted to use you as her scary Ten-Ton hammer to the nails that were her problems, but when I got a GM spot, my first mission was to make them see the potential. So I put you in place to face off for the Cosmic Championship and boom, you won it. No surprise to me, but you want to know what the first words out of Shelly Galactic's mouth to me where when you won the title? How do we get that belt off her? I said when she's damn good and ready!
She shakes her head once more and sighs.
Rebel: So you can be mad at me, hon. That's fine. I made a decision and I stick by it because it was the same decision I'd made for you and if you want to kick my ass for that? Fine. I ain't about ready to let you dictate my business to me. I make calls and those calls? They ain't always popular, but I'll fight for 'em and pay for 'em all the same. So anytime you want a fight Ursula Von Rossbach....
The Rebel wriggles her fingers in a bring-it-on motion.
Rebel: ...I'll be your Huckleberry.
The feed promptly cuts.
