We are backstage at the Rebel Star Arena when in the shot stand the curvy blonde who had been previously part of CCM’s interview segment: Yes the consummate professional that was simply known as ChaCha was on the scene and as usual she seemed puzzled.
ChaCha: I don’t know guys, this seems kinda unprofessional. I mean I’m CCM’s personal interviewer so I don’t like work for SRW or do..like spot interviews.
Esme: That’s quite alright ma’am. The truth is Luther and myself felt bad for... disrupting your interview a few weeks ago. We just thought it would make a nice change for you to maybe interview us, especially with Luther having a big championship match tonight.
Esme’s tone was calm and almost friendly, as she stood beside her husband.
ChaCha: Umm I don’t know CC’s been awfully down since the business with his dad, I’d hate to upset him..
Luther smiled broadly.
Luther: Upset him? For what? Doing your job. Look between you and me Miss ChaCha, I know you aren’t just a usual mic stand of an interviewer who spouts out soundbytes on command like a wind up toy..you are a professional. You graduated from Journalism School
This makes ChaCha beam with pride.
ChaCha: Of journalism! That’s right Mr. Thunder!
While Luther keeps up his polite smile he speaks in a softer conspiratorial tone.
Luther: That’s right and don’t think of this as a mere apology for our lack of manners from before, consider this as a spot to get noticed a chance any of these..lesser professionals would die for, something fit more up to your high standards of journalism, honesty and ethics.
ChaCha: Oh! I’ve been to Ethics it’s southeast of London me and CCM went there last year!
Esme: Right, well consider this your chance for a scoop sweetheart.
ChaCha: Oh, an exclusive?
Esme: That’s right, it would be a honor for me and Luther to be interviewed by you on such a historic night as this.
ChaCha: Oh darn..well it would sound like a great idea.
Luther: If you don’t want to do it for yourself ChaCha do it for CCM, he’d cheer up for sure if he saw you succeed.

ChaCha: Okay then, let’s get the camera rolling and do a banger of an interview.

ChaCha: Ladies and germs, it’s ChaCha here and for those of you who have been asking about the wellbeing of WMD the Millar family appreciates your concern and has sent all your prayers and well wishes to the legend himself who has promised to be right back here in Southern Rebellion Wrestling as soon as the nurses allow him to leave...however that being said, I’m here with one of the competitors for tonight’s Conquest Championship match, the one and only Luther Thunder and his lovely wife, Laura..
Esme: Esme.
ChaCha: Bless you.
Esme: No darling, the name is Esme. Not Laura.
ChaCha: You sure? I mean you totes look like a Laura to me.
Esme: Positive.
ChaCha: Gotcha, but if you ever wanna change your name..you can use Laura.
The glances exchanged between the women could speak plenty luckily Luther was there as a wall between any attacks.
ChaCha: So, Luther. How have you been?
He flashes a smirk.
Luther: I’ve been great, the road trips down to the south with the wife are some of the best darn’ tootin’ times of enjoyment I’ve ever had in a car and the matches in SRW haven’t been that bad either.
Esme: That’s a joke, laugh it up chuckles.
ChaCha: but...it wasn’t funny.
Esme: ....Anyway, things have been good. God willing, they’re about to get a lot better tonight. This could be a monumental night in the history of our business. There’s your soundbite for the hype package, Melinda!
ChaCha: Yes, Melinda Rhodes had done a banging job sparkling interest especially in the males around and I’m not talking about just the attractive women wrasslin’ all over the place, but there’s been all sorts of hunks signing contracts left right and center too so the diversity in talent is going off the rails for this convoy!
The Thunders look at each other, some second thoughts might have been had if this was really the best interviewer around.
Luther: I wouldn’t know of that, I am here strictly for the best competition, the toughest challenges and well to offer a whole new batch of fans just what they need. My last match against Max Ironside was a classic for the ages and somehow I think it won’t be our last. Sadly the post match mixup kinda soured the mood but tonight there is a great chance for me to remind people that my win over Max was not a fluke..while my loss against CCM might have been
He gets nudged by his wife.
Luther:..been somewhat controversial in the end I mean, of course.
ChaCha: Ah yes, Kate Steele is a true multitalent of the business performing artist AND a champion, facing her must be quite exciting, are you maybe going to pitch her a mutual musical production after the match?
Luther: No.
ChaCha: but..but she could totally hook you up with a record deal or at least a single.
Luther: I’ll leave the singing to someone else ChaCha, I’m in this business to wrestle and going against someone like Kate, Melissa and Savannah for a championship means I had no time for distractions. I’ve been eating right, working out more and trained as much as I can. My wife here is a wonderful cook and I’m lucky that she’s found me a good diet to stay in tip top shape for competing, because in this business you have to be ready for every opportunity, it may just be your last if you throw it away.
The blonde giggles and nods.
ChaCha: Gosh Mrs T. is there ANYTHING you won’t do for him?
Esme smiles.
Esme: Relationships are about give and take. You give plenty, you’ll receive plenty back. I love my husband, so I do whatever he needs. He does the same in return. As a result, we both benefit, and are both happy. I’m sure if you find a nice, decent man one day, you will see exactly what I mean.

ChaCha: Well what if you were to win the championship in your match tonight Luther, would you say there would be some conquests of your own to be had later?
He seems to blush a bit modestly leaning up to his wife.
Luther: Oh a gentleman never divulges such things least of all for the whole world watching. Celebrations would be had without a doubt but what would all that entail? Well that is..
Esme: That is between me and the future Conquest Champion here. I have never in my life doubted him or his chances to succeed. He is modest to a fault this man but no matter what the outcome is tonight. He will always be a champion to me and it really doesn’t matter to me how long it takes for SRW and it’s fans to see, but they will see it inevitably, tonight or later than that.
ChaCha: So..you aren’t scared of your opponents then Luther, not even a little bit? They are some tough ladies. I’ve seen Savannah fight off zombies or some scaries, had to just peek at those matches since well I’m not into horror..
Luther: Scared? Nope. Don’t think I am but going into this match and assuming that I will just waltz out of this arena with a championship tonight would be foolish. Kate Steele has held that title for a good while, she’s held gold elsewhere too and while I’m not as familiar with Melissa and Savannah I am certain that there is a reason why Melinda Rhodes put them in this match with me. SRW does not just hand people shots at championships or throw people in to muches for the fun of it. This is a serious opportunity for me and I have taken it as such and will do my best out there in the ring just like I have done preparing for this match, this is my first chance of gold here..but it will not be the last. That much is God’s honest truth.
Esme: Whatever “scaries” Savannah has fought, are far less scary than what my husband is capable of. For all Sunshine’s road back to glory is a compelling one, the truly great, like my husband, never lose their shine to begin with. And as much as Kate Steele is a champion of note, when my husband gets his hands on her, she will be more of a... footnote, if you catch my drift.
ChaCha: ...Not really?
Esme: That’s a shame. Time’s up. Thank you.
Luther: Thanks again ChaCha for your time and expertise, truly an honor. My best to the family and ask WMD if he got our get well card, will ya?
Without even waiting for an answer he walks off ChaCha seems puzzled.
ChaCha: Wait. so..no parting words for tonight’s match then?
Esme grabs the microphone.
Esme: Yeah, I’ll put it in terms that both of our rocker chicks Kate and Melissa will get too: There will be no encores.
She tosses the microphone to ChaCha and walks off as the blonde smiles at the camera.
ChaCha: ..That’s that folks we got ourselves a real rock opera of a match in the works for tonight, stay tuned, don’t change the channel and best wishes to Big Daddy WMD!
