SEGMENT
Halo: Tonight….
The camera opens in a backstage room on Halo standing alone, her bag just off to the right and her newly acquired Shieldmaidens kutte clininging to her shoulders.
Halo: Is my first match of the year, my first as a Shieldmaiden and my first ever against Eric Donavan!
She pauses, staring straight into the camera.
Halo:[/b] No, I did not stutter or make that up. I am now the VP of the San Elemente Charter of the Shieldmaidens MC. Some already thought I was one anyway given how much I interact with them, especially here. Standing up against a strange devil cult will do that, I spose.
Her eyes flash knowingly.
Halo: So now my first night wearing the colors, I face Eric Donavana, a multiple time world champion. A man who has spent more time being said world champion than I have in the sport period! He’s almost family given how he helped my sister get into the wrestling school with Hybrid that he owned by letting her work off the tuition through being on the ring crew. Her career only happened because of him and his generosity. I got my start because of him as well given that he also employed my late boyfriend, known then as Logan Bailey..
She pauses and nods almost sadly.
Halo: Though, that was apparently a made up, stolen identity that he used for reasons we’ll never know, though that was not Mister Donavan’s fault. Eric Donavan has always tried to show the way for better and one of his champions, Stacy Jones, helped train me. He’s also almost family because of his association with Robbie Priest, another multiple time world champion, who is married to one Alexi Zdunich-Priest, the cousin of them sisters y’all know here as Wildside, Mama Seleana and Aunt Zenna.
Looking down, Halo nods to herself.
Halo: Me and Mister Donavan is almost family, and now, I get to test myself against him to see where both of us stand right now. Anywhere he walks into, he is an immediate top-level competitor and SRW is no different. He’s a major acquisition!
She looks back up to the camera, pointing to herself.
Halo: But I ain’t no slouch neither. I been Hardcore Champion, I bee Conquest Champion and I been Ascendant Champion. I took one of them off F.M. Young, I took another one off of Ursula Von Rossbach and in taking the other I done ran someone out of the company! I am ready for this and I can’t wait to see you in the ring tonight, Mister Donavan! This is the chance I been waiting for and I damn sure ain’t gonna waste it!
A cover of Faith No More's "Epic" by The Veer Union Feat. Amalien blares through the loudspeakers of SRW Epoch's new home of Reaves Arena in Georgia National Fairgrounds deep in the heart of Perry, Georgia! While it largely looks the same as the Ross Kelley Rodeo Arena with a dirt floor, bleachers, and folding chairs, it's obvious the budget increased, although only slightly! A steel interlocking barrier separates the crowd from the six-sided wrestling ring while tonight's commentary team calls the action from the announcer's booth embedded into the top of the stage set where wrestlers make their entrance.
Dae-Hyun: Ladies, gentlemen, and everyone in between, this is EPOCH!! Brought to you by Southern Rebellion Wrestling. I'm Dae-Hyun Lee, and this is my new colleague, Jacquie Lacroix! You might recognize her as the former ring announcer of EPOCH's past, but she's ready to take on a whole new opportunity here in the broadcast booth. Jacqueline, how does it feel to take the chair of Vance Isaac Parker after he's been fired from his commentary post by Ms. Melinda Rhodes for all he's put her through these last few weeks?
Jacquie: It feels great, Dae! Now we don't have to subject our audience to the constant talk of rules and the endless, obnoxious ad reads that grate on everybody's nerves. We can focus on the wrestling, and the matches we've got lined up for tonight are extraordinary!
Dae-Hyun: Yep! And we'll get straight to those matches after we mention our sponsor RAID: Shadow Legends!
Jacquie: Oh God! Is it too late to quit? Let's just get on with the show...
